Grade 9
There are four select entry schools in Victoria: Melbourne High School, The Mac. Robertson Girls' High School, Nossal High School and Suzanne Cory High School. Students of these schools are determined through high results in the Select Entry Standardised Tests. These exams are designed to test content up to two years ahead of the Year 9 learning outcomes. Schools do not prepare students to this level, teaching only the learning outcomes of a student's current year level. Therefore, students and parents considering applying for these tests must enrol in Lunar Academy to allow for success in these tests.

Curriculum
At Lunar Academy, your tutor will create customised weekly content to address your child's unique learning style and needs, all while aligning with the rigorous standards of the Victorian Curriculum.
Our curriculum is informed by EduTests and the Victorian Curriculum to ensure you meet all your learning outcomes and ace your tests. Your tutor will also guide you to more difficult related topics to extend your knowledge past your peers. This allows you to be more prepared than your peers, which may grant further opportunities and recognition.
Success in select School Standardised testing is determined by how well a student is able to transform their gained knowledge and apply it to various situations. Questions are designed to utilise many different areas of English and Mathematics.
To ensure that you or your child is ready to begin Lunar Academy's Select School Testing Program, a general skills test will be conducted. This will ensure that the student has all the prior necessary knowledge and is set up for success.
Ultimately, Lunar Academy's Selective School Testing is a rigorous program that ensures that you or your child will achieve their educational goals.
Sessions
Lunar Academy offers flexible online and in-person classes. Sessions are 3 hours long and divided into three parts:

75 minutes Mathematics

30 minute Test
It is highly recommended that your child attends a session at least once per week to solidify their learning outcomes. The arrangement of fewer or more sessions is welcomed.
There are two types of sessions offered: Group and Private. Private sessions are attentive one-on-one sessions with your child and tutor. Group sessions involve a tutor interacting with no more than six students. We have no classroom-sized sessions as we believe that children learn best when they have the complete attention of their tutor.
Prices
Our pricing is simple and competitive, making quality education accessible for all. Online classes come with a 10% discount on standard rates, offering a flexible and affordable learning option.
For families who prefer in-home tutoring, a small travel fee of $5–$10 per session may apply, based on your location. In rare instances where specialised materials or additional support are required, any extra costs will be discussed and agreed upon upfront.
